HALFIRONMAN BOISE

I'm racing again. Today my first Halfironman (Boise), after 15 Ironman races I did. I finially going to do a Half distance. Blake is with me and supporting me. After my disapointing China-trip situation, this quote fits perfect for Boise: "Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom." (source: George S. Patton) I go for it --- Kjell

Downtown Boise

We are in Boise and it looks like it will be a fun day tomorrow. Relaxing home I found this fun trailer about Boise downtown on Youtube. The time here is nice and I cannot wait for the start tomorrow at 7am. Well OK I'm honestly not so crazy to get up at 4 am, but thats my job and it is not that often. I have to say sorry Blake and thank you for your support. I love you and hope you have fun too. I cannot wait for the fun ride back. Listing to some fun music have some great food and laugh allot --- Kjell

Halfironman Boise is ...

... a major piece in my season 2008. It feels like on of the main parts in a Quilt. Without some great parts, ideas you will end up with something normal average. I don´t want that. So lets go for the full deal. I keep pushing --- Kjell

Sunburn ...

I rode my bike for 4h yesterday i got a little sunburn. Not that bad but I notice it. Here the defenition of a sunburn by Wikipedia: "A sunburn is a burn to living tissue such as skin produced by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, commonly from the sun's rays. Exposure of the skin to lesser amounts of UV will often produce a suntan. Usual mild symptoms in humans and animals are red or reddish skin that is hot to the touch, general fatigue, and mild dizziness. An excess of UV-radiation can be life-threatening." ... and what to do ...:"Commercial preparations are available that block UV light, known as sunscreens or sunblocks. They have a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) rating, based on the sunblock's ability to suppress sunburn: The higher the SPF rating, the lower the amount of direct DNA damage." I love the sun --- Kjell

The Team has many years of experience making quilts. Here a bio from "Kathy" - “I was exposed to quilting all my life by my grandma and always have been interested in making quilts. Everybody works at Keepsake Theme Quilts knows Sign Language. The communication is important to me because we can understand each other easily.”

I won yesterday ...

I had a solid run. It was a close call. My mom and I drove like 4h from Coeur d´Alene to the Coulee Dam. We started extremly early, getting up at 4am and arrived about 10minutes before the start at 8:30am. I was probably not the best travelcompanien on the way to the race, sorry mom. We arrived, I registered, went to the bathrooms, changed and the race started. I ran hard from the beginning and was leading from the start on. The hill from k 2 to k 4 was though. Running over the Dam, was so much fun and you never get the chance to do that during the year. Thanks to the organiziers [Total Health Events] to make that happen. And than running on the lake was windy, a little lonley, but fun because I was leading. At the turn-arround I had a lead of 7,50 minutes. So I took it easy, sorry Coach Peter, but I just couldn´t push it harder without anyone there. So I finished in 1:20,21h and broke the course-record and won by about 13minutes. Oh the trip back was allot faster and way more fun --- Kjell

BIEST//BOOSTER Slot Machine

I think this would be a fun idea: "The idea of a booster slot machine was born a few days ago. A kind of filling pump for Biest boosters, Macca’s fuel. Here are the first vague sketches! Great article ... "Fixing your weakest link"

"Fixing your weakest link: By Mark Allen
April 16, 2008 -- Several years ago (18 to be exact) I was at a crisis point in my triathlon career. I had raced the Ironman in Hawaii six times with disastrous results and was wondering if I had the strength it took to have a great race on the Big Island. The story was different for me everywhere else. ..." [source: triathletemag.com] It is a good article --- Kjell
