bye bye January

Wow, January 2010 went so fast: "January (pronunciation) (help·info) is the first month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian calendars, and one of seven Gregorian months with the length of 31 days. The first day of the month is known as New Year's Day. It is, on average, the coldest month of the year within most of the Northern Hemisphere and the warmest month of the year within most of the Southern Hemisphere." [source: wikipedia] --- Kjell

That was a foggy + hard morning. Ran at 6:30 am through the Moscow/Pullman area. It was my first longer run on empty. Right after a big bowl of oatmeal with fruits and a good coffee. --- Kjell

Watch out for signs of dehydration

"Dehydration is something physicians are trained to look for. Elderly people and caregivers for the elderly should also be on the alert for dehydration and its effects. “Dehydration happens at both ends of life,” said Jay Brooks, a medical oncologist, internist and chief of staff at Ochsner Medical Center — Baton Rouge.
“It’s the number one cause of death in children around the world and the same thing at the other end of life.” With an aging population looked after by aging children, dehydration can result in hospitalization and bizarre hallucinations. “Little things can cause it,” Brooks said. “Diarrhea. A virus. Vomiting...” [source: 2theadvocate, By ED CULLEN] --- Kjell

6th of January

"Epiphany (from Koine Greek ἐπιφάνεια "appearance", "manifestation") is a Christian feast day which celebrates the revelation of God made Man in the person of Jesus Christ. It falls on January 6 or on a Sunday close to that date. January 6 in the Julian Calendar, which is followed by some Eastern Churches, corresponds at present to January 19 in the Gregorian Calendar, which is the official civil calendar in most countries. On this day, Western Christians commemorate principally the visitation of the Biblical Magi to the child Jesus, i.e., his manifestation to the Gentiles; Eastern Christians commemorate the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River, seen as his manifestation to the world as the Son of God. It is also called Theophany, especially by Eastern Christians." [source: wikipedia] --- Kjell
