Shift of focus // better multi focus

2nd place at our local Reindeer Run 2015!
Well technically I was third and Indy was second. At that point she was energized again. Half point not so much. Could have been the water right new to us!
Very happy to be able to get a local kid into running. We have been cursing the streets of CDA for 4 month now and today was his first race. Way to go Kaelin!

Winning CDA Marathon 2015

Wow what a battle. I felt OK going into this Marathon, but I did not know how much punch I had. I started strong and felt this was going ok.
But than, at mile 13 I got passed and I thought that was it. Well 2nd is great too.
So I tried to stay in my zone. At mile 24 I could not believe my eyes, the guy was walking;) And there it was, my next gear. I put it all in and flew by him and left no doubt that I wanted to win. I did not fight back and within one mile, I took 3 more minutes out of him.
Great win and fantastic feeling to finish with my little girl.

Win #2

Today, I experimented with a long run and a hard race. I started at 5am for a 18 mile long run.
Got home ate some and drove to race a 5km race at the Freeman HS.
Time was slow (18:12min), but I felt pretty good for the first 2 miles, than my legs locked up.
Good test and another win in the books.

First race … first win

Great to start the  racing year with a win. Snowy and windy conditions. I still pulled off a controlled 5km win - in 16:58min! There was room to the second guy and in my speed;)

Ultra Win #9

What a day/race. And remind me, never run an Ultra when you have a plain ticket mid day. Just to stressful!!!
I came, raced and won.

7 days, two Marathons

And they are my last long runs before Ironman CDA 2013.
At the Windemere Marathon, I dug deep and did what I had to do to win. Tomorrow, we will see! Same concept and goal.

PS: A Marine told me last sunday I was "bad ass" and should sign up;)

Ultra number 12

Another one in the books. Tired legs after the lonely 60km on the Centenial trail from Nine Mile Falls to the State Line in Post Falls.
Took me 4:37h!

If you do not try, you cannot win!

Race the River

"Race the River is a sprint-distance triathlon that takes place in beautiful Coeur d’Alene Idaho. It starts with a 0.5 mile swim with the mild current of the Spokane river, just as it leaves crystal clear Lake Coeur d’Alene. Athletes transition onto their bikes through the modern Riverstone complex and navigate an exciting and technically challenging 11 mile bike course. Exiting transition, runners loop through a serene city park for 3.1 miles, around a large pond with fountain and across a bridge made of an old train car." [source: RacetheRiver] Thanks Christine for another great year racing the NW Regional Championships. This year I placed 3rd. Getting better by the year. --- Kjell
