Ironman Australia

"Well, it's definitely been an interesting day here in Port Macquarie. seeting goals ...

Meet the Team: "Setting Goals: The operation of our business is driven by daily goals. These goals are well documented on our activities board. Once completed the employee is required to place an "X" on the board to indicate the completion of the goal. This visual representation of our priorities helps to direct the employees and enhances the ability to act independently. More than 20 student interns have been hired to date, along with a current staff of 8 skilled seamstresses." [source: Keepsake Theme Quilt] They doing such a good job --- Kjell

APRIL ... APRIL

"APRIL APRIL" - "April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day, though not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day celebrated in many countries on April 1. The day is marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, enemies and neighbors, or sending them on fools' errands, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible." Snake River Sprint Triathlon

A little different, cold and we will see: "THE RACE: The Triathlon is a 500 yard swim Friday night with a 12-mile bike and 2-mile run on Saturday. The swim will be at the Asotin County Family Aquatic Center from 4-8pm on Friday. The bike (both mountain and road) will start at 10:00am + your swim time (IE - if you swim time was 7:47 then you will start at 10:07:47am). The bike portion leaves the parking lot area, heads out the main park entrance road and takes a RIGHT onto Tammany Creek Road. Then proceed out Tammany (South and East) to the 6-mile turn around (just past Lucky Acres Arena) then returns to Hells Gate. The run starts at the far North parking lot at Hell's Gate State Park and heads North on the levee path 1 mile then returns to the transition area in the parking lot. The finish will come into the parallel parking lot as the transition area." [source: 2008 Snake River Sprint Triathlon] Keep smiling, I try (3rd. place) --- Kjell

HAPPY EASTER

HAPPY Easter "Easter, also called Pascha, is the most important religious feast in the Christian liturgical year.[1] It celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, which Christians believe occurred on the third day after his crucifixion around AD 33. Many non-religious cultural elements have become part of the holiday, and those aspects are often celebrated by many Christians and non-Christians alike. Easter also refers to the season of the church year called Eastertide or the Easter Season. Traditionally the Easter Season lasted for the forty days from Easter Day until Ascension Day but now officially lasts for the fifty days until Pentecost. The first week of the Easter Season is known as Easter Week or the Octave of Easter." [source: Wikipedia]

Saint Patrick´s day

Happy Saint Patrick´s Day: "Saint Patrick's Day (Irish: Lá ’le Pádraig or Lá Fhéile Pádraig), colloquially St. Paddy's Day or Paddy's Day, is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick (circa 385–461 AD), one of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on March 17. ... Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated worldwide by Irish people and increasingly by non-Irish people (usually in Australia, North America, Ireland) as well. Celebrations are generally themed around all things Irish and, by association, the colour green. Both Christians and non-Christians celebrate the secular version of the holiday by wearing green or orange, eating Irish food and/or green foods, imbibing Irish drink (such as Guinness) and attending parades." and ...

Nach zwei Monaten Regenerationspause will Schiöberg in China starten." [Hamburger Abendblatt - 28.02.2008] --- Kjell

Done ...

It did it again and it was number 15. And it was though. I struggeled a few times and I´m glad to be done with my job here. Well the awards and so tomorrow, but that is fun. Here I give you a little personal racerepord and it is not ment to be an excuselist, OK! We (Andre and I) got up at 4am and got everything togehter, before we went done at 5am for breakfast. Not a great time and situation for a fun breakfast, but needed. Down to the start, getting everything setup and the pros started at 7:30am. Not a good thing for me. I was allone all the time and got lost with directions. So it took me 5minutes longer out than back. Because the signs back in where allot better. And the worse thing, I swallowed a little pice of jellyfish and v... right away. My stomac was upset and that for the rest of the day. But well, thats Ironman. On my bike I wanted to take it easy at the beginning and I did. Had company and these guys where there for quite a while and all the time behind me of course. At K 125 I had a little heartbeat situation with 2 little boys. They got pissed that I wasn´t giving them my full waterbottles. So they decided to strow a pice of rope at my bike. Lucky me that I ride a discwheal. don´t wanna think about other ...if I was riding a normal wheal! Anway on the run my feet where num at the beginning and I was running painfull and extremly funny, but I managed to fix it and ended up with an solid 4:45-4:50km pace. After a long day I finished 17th out of 700 starters and got 9th Pro. Congratualtions do Andre, he finished just one place behind me 18th, GREAT job. Here are some Impressions from Ironmanlive.comPicture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 I´m so done --- Kjell

After a linght trainingday on Langkawi I will be back on my bike getting ready for Ironman Malaysia. This event will be in less than two weeks. "Lotto Ironman Malaysia takes place on Langkawi, a popular island resort destination in Malaysia. It's tough not because of the course, which consists of a very warm swim, a rolling bike and a relatively flat run course. It's tough because it can get really hot, especially during the run. How hot? In 2001 temperatures that reached 43 degrees Celsius (which is very close to 110 degrees Fahrenheit for anyone who thinks in those terms)." [source: IM Malaysia] --- best regards Kjell

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR ...

Happy chinese new year! "Chinese New Year (simplified Chinese: 农历新年; traditional Chinese: 農曆新年; pinyin: Nónglì xīnnián; literally: "Agrarian Calendar New Year") or Spring Festival (simplified Chinese: 春节; traditional Chinese: 春節; pinyin: Chūnjié) is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is sometimes called the Lunar New Year, especially by people outside China. It is an important holiday in East Asia. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first lunar month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival (simplified Chinese: 元宵节; traditional Chinese: 元宵節; pinyin: yuánxiāojié)." "What can you possibly accomplish in just four minutes on the bike? A lot, actually. All you have to do is ride as hard as you can. Better yet, instead of riding as hard as you can for four straight minutes, ride at your true maximum power-output level in several short bursts, resting just long enough between bursts to avoid a precipitous decline in power output from one burst to the next." beeing on the road ...

I´m on the road and it was such a stressfull trip so far. Leaving Hamburg with one of the first flights, challenging the carry on security checks. The plain started late and I wasn´t sure how much time I have in London, but I had plenty. Thats what I thought, without having the big issue of my tickets. I bocked my Ger-US and back ticket for a good price and it has a couple month inbetween. Way to much for the immigration standards in the US. Didn´t wanna case any trouble, but I got trouble. I didn´t had a ticket leaving the US within 90 days, so they didn´t wanted to give me the tickets to Chicago. They finally helped me and I got the tickets, in the plain and in the US. Writing this from Chicago and getting back in the US. Later the day I will be back in Moscow and probably stuck in the snow ... happy training --- Kjell
