What a day

That was a hard day. Not as long as an Ironman day, but I'm done and looking in foward for a nice massage, some good food and a little break. I had fun, even it was painfull. Sunburn ...

I rode my bike for 4h yesterday i got a little sunburn. Not that bad but I notice it. Here the defenition of a sunburn by Wikipedia: "A sunburn is a burn to living tissue such as skin produced by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, commonly from the sun's rays. Exposure of the skin to lesser amounts of UV will often produce a suntan. Usual mild symptoms in humans and animals are red or reddish skin that is hot to the touch, general fatigue, and mild dizziness. An excess of UV-radiation can be life-threatening." ... and what to do ...:"Commercial preparations are available that block UV light, known as sunscreens or sunblocks. my mom is leaving ...

My mom is leaving today. It was a fun week with you mom. We had fun in Coeur d´Alene with Deborah and Blake. Then the days in Moscow with some shopping and the everyday life. Yesterday we spend a some time in Troy. It was funny, we got asked if whe where lost, but we where not, we just looked arround, what is unusall in Troy. There is nothing to do for a Tourist. I won yesterday ...

I had a solid run. It was a close call. My mom and I drove like 4h from Coeur d´Alene to the Coulee Dam. We started extremly early, getting up at 4am and arrived about 10minutes before the start at 8:30am. I was probably not the best travelcompanien on the way to the race, sorry mom. We arrived, I registered, went to the bathrooms, changed and the race started. I ran hard from the beginning and was leading from the start on. The hill from k 2 to k 4 was though. Running over the Dam, was so much fun and you never get the chance to do that during the year. Thanks to the organiziers [Total Health Events] to make that happen. And than running on the lake was windy, a little lonley, but fun because I was leading. At the turn-arround I had a lead of 7,50 minutes. So I took it easy, sorry Coach Peter, but I just couldn´t push it harder without anyone there. So I finished in 1:20,21h and broke the course-record and won by about 13minutes. Oh the trip back was allot faster and way more fun --- Kjell

what a ride ...

WOW, what a day. I rode from Coeur d'Alene to Moscow. It was awfull. 140km against the wind with hale, snow and temp's arround 40F. And a little crash with a truck. No worries I'm ok, just the wind of the truck pushed me in a metalbarrier. It took me way to long for that ride. I'm embarrest, so I won't tell. I'm so tired after the work the last days and this bad bike-ride. Happy riding --- Kjell

Snake River Sprint Triathlon

A little different, cold and we will see: "THE RACE: The Triathlon is a 500 yard swim Friday night with a 12-mile bike and 2-mile run on Saturday. The swim will be at the Asotin County Family Aquatic Center from 4-8pm on Friday. The bike (both mountain and road) will start at 10:00am + your swim time (IE - if you swim time was 7:47 then you will start at 10:07:47am). The bike portion leaves the parking lot area, heads out the main park entrance road and takes a RIGHT onto Tammany Creek Road. Then proceed out Tammany (South and East) to the 6-mile turn around (just past Lucky Acres Arena) then returns to Hells Gate. The run starts at the far North parking lot at Hell's Gate State Park and heads North on the levee path 1 mile then returns to the transition area in the parking lot. My Coach Peter Sauerland is organzing spring trainingcamps on Mallorca.
