HAPPY Halloween
"Halloween (also spelled Hallowe'en) is an annual holiday celebrated on October 31. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holy day of All Saints. It is largely a secular celebration but some have expressed strong feelings about perceived religious overtones.
The day is often associated with the colors black and orange, and is strongly associated with symbols like the jack-o'-lantern. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, wearing costumes and attending costume parties, ghost tours, bonfires, visiting haunted attractions, pranks, telling scary stories, and watching." Coeur d´Alene
Off to Coeur d´ Alene!
"Just as Coeur d'Alene Lake served as the traditional focus of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, it is the center of the Coeur d'Alene community today. The lake, during all seasons, remains the heart of our area.
Early French-speaking fur traders named Coeur d'Alene Lake. According to legend, the traders believed the local Indians to be sharp traders and called the lake Coeur d'Alene since their hearts were as sharp as an awl. In 1878 Fort Sherman was established and the city began to grow. Coeur d'Alene was incorporated in 1887 and continued to flourish. It's a town with a rich background in lake steamers, fur trading, logging and mining." [source: coeurdalene.org] --- Kjell

A hard DNF
"Biest athlete Yvonne was very unlucky in this race. Her bike had a defect, so she was unable to use all the gears. As an excellent cyclist she finished the bike course, but on the run her legs were sore and heavy from the beginning. After 5K she quit the race, a difficult decision for an athlete who had worked so hard for this special event." [source: Biestmilch] --- Kjell

Ironman Hawaii 2009 from the Biestside
"The race is over. The results for our biest athletes have been a little bit disappointing, for each of them in a different way. Nevertheless it was a great event and a great experience for all of us. It is not easy to find a finale without the respective results. Here you can see an attempt, I think – thanks to our multi-talent Fritz Zorn – a very successful one. Chris, Ronnie and Yvonne before and during the race, have a look at their special way of being." [source: Biestmilch] WATCH ME Aloha --- Kjell

2nd place
I got some energy out of me and used the local 10km race as a stress reliever!!! I´m happy with my 2nd place overall. Heather Fuhr, former IM Worldchamp ladies won. She was fast and I was tired from 14h days. Here have a look: IRONMITCH, I´m the one on the 10km start with the white shirt and the Biestmilch hat. Well done Fritz and Michel, it was fun --- Kjell

Chris is flying
"Yesterday we met Chris on the highway, we almost missed each other because of heavy traffic and slowly car ;-) Chris does motor-pacing usually every year before the race. This time he was with Timmy Marr and went a max. speed of 90K, an amazing speed. Timmy really had to concentrate, because going so fast makes riding a lot more dangerous." watch it on Biestmilch --- Kjell
